Yes but it is also about not wasting money and imho those bins are a waste of money. If something is really cheap but completely useless and unnecessary then it's a bit daft to blindly recommend it and tell people to go out and buy it.

Edited to say: also whilst I agree with a lot of the post about eco-friendliness, I have to add that when you have a little baby and you're just trying to make it through the day at the beginning, you do whatever is easiest (and cheapest usually) and 'is this eco friendly?' isn't what most mummies are thinking about tbph.
I totally agree that we all need to do what is easiest in the beginning, but I do actually think that a lot of mums are very aware about the impact of nappies on the environment, and the fact that all the disposables ever used in the last 20 years are still out there. When you are pregnant and have a baby these days it is rammed down your throat. Most mum's do care and I think more and more people want to be responsible (but only if its easy!!and not too expensive-that includes me!!) And I only said that nappies should not be put in the household waste without being 'scraped' (mmm) I didn't say I did it!!! I was making the point that the Nappy Sack machine nonsenese was completely unnecessary and as an expectant mum (no.6) I am well aware of all the nappy issues as the midwives keep giving me leaflets about it! The other one people have talked about sounds better if you feel you have to use one, because as people have said it uses far less plastic.
Personally never had any problem with putting them in the bin and emptying the bin regularly!!

except that Mrs Harper and I think that this is one of the best things we own and it does the very job it claims to and makes our lives that little bit easier

your house must be fun if a stinky bin filled with cr*p is as good as it gets;)

had one for first child, learnt lesson by the second child, nappy sacks, cheaper and not much more inconvenient

ok maybe that was a slight overstatement... but it genuinely contributes a tiny bit in making things easier.

How does it make things easier for you though?

I genuinely can't think of a way that it could or would.

:jLOL 'one of the best things you own!!!!' Well it obviously works for some people, and clearly if you are unable to put a nappy in a standard bin and find making long sausages of poo in a seperate bin, makes your life easier and is one of the best things you own then who am I to argue! Fair play to you. Made me laugh today anyway :rotfl:

I'd never have thought a thread about discount on a poop bin could have made me laugh as much as this one has. :rotfl:
• Got to agree with those above saying this is an unneccesary product, we got one with the bounty voucher and used it for a week or so then chucked it as it's pointless. put your nappies in nappy bags tie the handles and chuck em in the bin! (and dont waste £9.99)

rofl :rotfl: I have to confess although i'm finding this funny on a serious note i have to agree as i own ones of these and my dd is not on solids yet and the bin is starting to smell already so i have stopped using it...... And before anyone comments yes i'm a first time mum who didn't no better at the time of purchase :p

I had one of these for DD1 (now 23 months and thankfully toilet trained!), used the refill it came with and bought one more before giving up! Now we still use it as the nappy bin (for DD2), but it's now without a lid, and lined with a supermarket carrier - and doesn't smell any worse! The idea was nice, but it didn't work out in practice.
