Cheers for the replies. I'll probs just use the Xp for now and see if it makes a difference. I just think that it seems a bit clunky due to me installing/uninstalling a lot of programs recently. I'll set it overnight and just let it whir away!

It will take an absolute age if you have a FAT drive rather than a NFTS drive.0 -
VOPTXP should be included in this list, as it's extremely quick https://www.vopt.com. It also has the added bonus of not caring whether you format your HD as fat or ntfs.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
