Welcome to the MSE forums HARAS.
I have no idea what limit (if any) there is but, IIRC, the tax man can claim back-tax for 7 years so, in the overall plan of things, 6, 12 or 18 months is nothing.
My philosophy is, "If I owe it, I'll pay it" and that's never hurt my credit rating.
P.S. Why did you capitalise the first letter of each word?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Yes. If a debt has been dormant for 6 years (ie. no correspondence or anything), it becomes statute barred and you cannot be made to pay it. In your case, 12 months is well within the 6 year limit so if you genuinely owe the money, you have to pay up.
however, Tesco Home Phone have been sending out a few letters like this so maybe their computer has made a mistake?
