    My church is £750 (C of E)

They only have one set fee and that includes the bells and the choir, if you don't want them then it is still £750 so I will be having them, lol

But I would have wanted the bells anyway and may as well have the choir, it will be nice

This is outrageous. Is it Westminster Abbey? I don't know how the Vicar has the bare faced cheek to ask for this much, unless the choir is about 30 strong and there are 12 bells. Even then, you should have the choice whether you want these extras or not.Our church will do it all in for less than half that including a first class organist: £332.50 (no choir or bells).
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • We got married 2 years ago now and had a church wedding although neither or us were local to that particular church so we had to visit regularly for at least six months in the run up to the wedding. We went about twice a month as it was quite a distance from where we had moved and in total I think the cost for the wedding was about £300 which included bellringers but no choir. This doesn't seem as much as some others but then the church itself was not huge. The marriage certificate itself was only £18! I did the church flowers myself and left them afterwards to decorate the church for the sunday service. Kate x

Our church was £360 including the PA and big screen and worship team. (No bells at our church, although my sister paid extra for her bells at a CofE church and got a taped recording!) We could of had a bog standard wedding for £160 without the extras.... I didn't decorate the church but they happened to have some beautiful flowers up when we went for the rehearsal and they called me the next day to ask if I wanted them left up... My Nana thought they were lovely and went out of her way to tell me she thought I'd decorated the church well!

Oh, and our church will also only marry members and although DH is not a member we had a very long meeting with the pastor that married us about his beliefs and she was happy enough to marry us.... She would not of been happy if he'd said he was atheist and would never go to church etc and would not of married us.
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
