Hello there - the cost depends entirely on the extras you want as I think they are set by individual churches, (eg organist, choir, bell ringing, flowers) however a CofE church will set you back I think £247 at the moment (that's a set fee for the basics) - a breakdown from the CofE site is here:
http://www.cofe.anglican.org/lifeevents/ministry/workofmindiv/dracsc/ffandaw/tableparochialfees2008.doc
However ours is costing approx £500 without any extras (I'm unsure why now that I've seen the bog standard charge set by the CofE is half that!)
Catholic churches however ask for a donation instead and usually have a collection plate out at the end of the ceremony

It can be anything from £275 and i've seen girls pay £700 it depends what extras they ask you to pay for, one girl i know had to pay £250 so she could have photos and a video done in church.0

I paid £840!!!!!! with bells and no other extras, this is because the parish is very large and i got married in the main church so we had to pay towards the churches upkeep.
It is a lot of money but it was the best thing for me, and everyone was very impressed by my vicar, even the non religious people enjoyed what he had to say. Well worth it !:)Leopardlady
Got married on the 26th April 08!!!!!!!:j:T

are those above prices inclusive of minister? or did u have to pay extra for them?0

For me that's including the vicar, use of the church, marriage certificate (or the receipt as my beloved likes to call it)0

It totally depends on what type of church it is too, and also whether you attend or not. I got married in an evangelical church and my sister in a Methodist and neither of us paid anything as we go there!0

We also got married in the Methodist Church and there is no charge for church members.
It was lovely, because friends at church got the place ready for us, the lady who does the flowers did us proud, friends played a music CD for us, the oldest man in the congregation gave me away and the youngest boy carried the ring-cushion. We invited some of them to the reception lunch afterwards, as a thank-you.
CofE wouldn't marry us because DH was divorced and not baptised, that's why we joined the Methodist Church.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

the church we;re getting married at offers a lot of things as standard so choir, bells and organist were included in the £725. The reading of the banns was an extra £40 and then heating was £55. The price doesnt include any flowers.
