Bankruptcy woes and pro's

Well,
following the sound advice from a2c I looked at opening a bank account. I tried a few of the ones recommended on the FSA website ( http://www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer/pdfs/bank_account.pdf ) but their computer said no.
Just for a laugh I thought I'd try the Nationwide flex account, now bearing in mind that they're one of my creditors in my bankruptcy, I naturally assumed that they would say no, but to my surprise, they said yes!!!!!!!! :j
Details are on their way to me within the next 5 days. Naturally there's no cheque book or debit card, but hey, who needs them? I just need to have somewhere to put my salary each month and pay some direct debits from.

The journey is not made easier by the fact that the financial institutions blind fold us before we set out on our route.

Banks are strange aren't they. Made me laugh this morning when I got a letter through from Barclaycard (who were one of my many creditors) saying I had been pre-approved for a platinum card. Considering I haven't been discharged yet I thought it was ridiculous.0

Hi EEF,
I was reading your story and felt the need to reply. Im so sorry you lost a dear friend and my heart goes out to you. Always remember though, you have your health, your family, and at the end of the day, thats all that matters right?. I live on a measly income, but I have my children and OH with me when the going gets rough. They always have the ability to make me smile, even when Im low.
I hope and pray things will turn for the better in near future for you
/hugs

Thank you Venus for your kind words. I have just spent a long weekend with friends and my family, and have realised that my strength comes from them. I am trying to keep things together, and the help of those on this site, the love of my friends and family, and the respect of those around me will help me through this. There are many paths to tread to find true financial enlightenment, some of them are clear of obstacles, others have huge piles of doggie DooDoo in them in which one can easily tread. LoL,
Guess what?
I have been pre-approved for a loan of £5,000 from a loan company today! Quite surprising considering that I am still bankrupt and haven't applied for a loan.
What sort of drugs are these companies on?
It's no wonder that some of them charge interest rates of 20% or more when you consider how much money they must waste on sending out inappropriate junk mail

i just wanted to wish you good luck for your interview with the OR tomorrow (i think thats when you said it is?). please will you post an update afterwards to say how it went? (i've been considering bankruptcy for about 2yrs now, and my whole life is in limbo, i'm about 80% sure that i will do it but i'm scared of what will happen).

Thank you for your support Bolly,
I will post how things go when I get home tommorrow or over the weekend.
If you are 80% sure, why not be 100% sure and get your life back on track again?
Have you spoken to CCCS or Payplan etc?
I can tell you that, although the stress is huge, the relief that I have finally taken my head out of the sand is even huger!!!!!!There are many paths to tread to find true financial enlightenment, some of them are clear of obstacles, others have huge piles of doggie DooDoo in them in which one can easily tread. Entrepreneur en faillite,
Good luck for your meeting tomorrow. I hope that it goes as well as it can for you, mate. At least you are on the steps towards sorting it all out.
Kind regards"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

Just got back from the meeting with the OR.
Got there at 10:30, 2 hours of grilling later they released me, but I've got to go back on 10th January to finish the meeting, as they ran out of time, and mine is a very complex case.
I feel a little better (I think), and things are a little clearer as to the processes involved, and the woman I saw was very nice and understanding. There are many paths to tread to find true financial enlightenment, some of them are clear of obstacles, others have huge piles of doggie DooDoo in them in which one can easily tread.
