  • depends how long the court take to send the Statement Of Affairs to the OR, can vary between next day and 3 days. Then letter normally goes out within 1/2 days by ordinary 1st class.....if you are concerned ring your local OR and ask to be put through to person dealing with your case...
  • Thank you for that, I'm also struggling with the FSA too, they don't seem to be able to tell me what sort of duties I can do as a bankrupt, don't suppose you know?
There are many paths to tread to find true financial enlightenment, some of them are clear of obstacles, others have huge piles of doggie DooDoo in them in which one can easily tread. The journey is not made easier by the fact that the financial institutions blind fold us before we set out on our route.

  • Hooray!

I finally have had help from the FSA, apparently I continue as an adviser, my firm submits a form D, and if the FSA decide to restrict what I can or can't do, and they will let us know in due course!

This isn't actually turning out to be as bad as I thought.

  • Quick update - spoken to OR (was getting worried about not having received my letter yet), lady said that they are so busy that my letter won't be going out until next week!

In a way that's made me feel better.

I'be heard this as well Eef, that the OR is so busy that it appears they struggle to do a full investigation in every case. Seeing as Addicted2Chocolate appears to have inside knowledge, maybe they can elaborate on this.
  • I fully intend to be as helpful as I possibly can to them. I have been told by many on this site that the more helpful you are the more likely it is you will have an easier journey through bankruptcy, and the more likely it is to be discharged before the end of a year.

I hope so, I could do with a break, car failed it's MOT yesterday - need £518 to repair it, so, it isn't going to be repaired until I can find a cheaper mechanic! (I though about doing it myself but all I know about cars is that petrol goes in one end and there's a thing called an engine at the other end!)

  • One more thing -

does anybody know if I have to wait to open a new bank account until after the meeting with the OR, I need somewhere for my wages to go from work. At the moment they are going into the wifes account, but I would much rather have them going into my own account so that I can distribute them to the gas board council tax etc.

Might give me back some of the self esteem I seem to have lost over the last week!

You do not have to wait to open a new bank account. You can open a basic bank account, and you should tell the bank that you are bankrupt when you approach them. The post office account is open to everyone. Other then that just go down high street (dont bother trying the ones you owe money to). The Natwest Account is called a step account. Abbey are meant to be good too...

Thanks for that a2c but I don't think that there is a bank that I don't owe money to!!!!!

Maybe I'll try the post office.

    Thank you for your help
