"Great to see you're using one of New Labour's cardboard boxes to store your stuff. I can now announce we've done a deal with Russell Hobbs to provide even larger cardboard boxes so hard-working British families everywhere can, er, live in them. . ."

  • “While the problem comes out of America, it has consequences for all of us,” he told reporters. At a business breakfast, he insisted that Britain, where house prices have already fallen by about 10 per cent, would not suffer a similar housing crash to the US because it had a “shortage” of homes.

Well of course no financial institution behaved foolishly (how coy!) in the UK because if they had done, Gordon would've been on to 'em faster than a ferret up a drain-pipe.

Everything that has happened here has happened because of events beyond the control of a son of the manse who has always had the interests of hard-working British bankers -- families, whoops -- at heart.
