Hi, i phoned up o2 yesterday to cancel my contract as i was paying £45 a month for 75 minutes and 300 texts, I really want the new Sony Ericsson C902 and when I said i wanted to cancel they obviously were going to offer me a better deal, so the deal is i get my shiny new C902 for free plus 400 any network mins, unlimited o2 mins, 1000 texts a month would of been for £30 a month, but because ive been with them so long, i get an extra £10 off a month taking it down to £20. This has obviously made me very happy, but is it really a good deal? they cant take off any minutes or texts can they after so many months or put the price up or anything?
thanks in advance x

You were paying £45 for 75 minutes and 300 texts? wow, just wow.
And it's an OK deal but you can do better. Go back to them, ask for your Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) and the retentions department will then contact you with even better deals...
You can more than likely get that deal at £15.. or even at £15 with more minutes and texts.
Just comment on the fact you've been paying £540 per annum for absoluetely jack !!!! minutes or texts and you'd like some payback on that.0 -
Hi LL,
I think it's as good a deal as can be got, although I finally got an offer a couple of weeks ago of 600min 1000texts and unlimited internet for £20/mth (18mth contract). Choice of phone was pretty much any except iphone and Nokia N95, but iv'e been with O2 for 15 years.
I'm not taking up the deal just yet, as i'm waiting for the SE C905.
You could push for more mins if you think you might use them,or change the "bolt on" (unlimited O2 to O2) to something like unlimited internet or more mins /texts .
If you go to : http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/18_months and look at the bolt ons available with the "On line35" tariff, you could choose something to suit YOU.It was the online 35 tariff I got, but reduced to £20/mth0 -
yeah i thought it was a good deal, its probably more than enough for me, as most of my family and hubby are on o2 the unlimited mins is brilliant for me. I dont mind paying £20 a month for that, as its a lot less then bloody £45!! thanks for the help you guys really appreciate it, just needed a second opinion as i have no idea about contracts!!! xxx0
