A friend of my parents was being treated for a brain tumour at Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology.

I remember them saying that the specialist/oncologist told him that his patients were "commonly electricians that worked on high voltage equipment" (they isolate sections to work on in industrial operations, with the rest live) "and heavy users of mobile phones."

He (parents friend with tumour) was an electrician and had worked for years on high voltage equipment so that was relevant to him. Being older, he did n't have a mobile phone then, approx. 5-7 years ago.

Obviously an Oncologist is not an Epidemiologist and has not carried out studies, but I took his reported comments as a fair warning against heavy use of mobiles.

    "Mad as a hatter"

Where'd that come from? People who used to make hats (those shiney black ones) did literally go mad due to the fumes of the handmade processing.

Electricty obviously causes cell damage. Anyone saying different is a liar. But...it's all about level of risk. I dare say mobile phones and DECT phones radiate (they do they actually say it on in the instructions -how else might they work?) but so what? Weirdos, environMENTALists and all the usual loonies like to grip on to something to worry about and if possible worry others. The Internet and not using condoms allows this.

Apples are good for you (I'm eating one right now), but if I eat 400 today I will possibly die. Is it organic? Everything is organic or it wouldn't be here. If you buy 'organic' food you need your head testing along with your mobile phone.
  • This person sounds typical of verement denial brigade perhaps he/she is fearful of the exposure he/she may have undergone ie heavy phone user mobiles and dects and so on, it is a displacement of the fear that they disparage and ridicule those that deliver the messgae, they would rather stay seated in the camp that backs them up and huddle to gether in this misconception, we are all making calculations regarding our health every second of the day, you are no different. Mitigation of risk is smart thinking, otherwise you would not be visiting this site, but yet again that selfish streak tries to clobber the truth just incase you might get a glimmer of sense to face your fear. Come on stand up and say it, my name is.......and I am a mobile phone addict ! Stop running from your fears.:T

Democratic governments, armies, the police and public authorities don't worry me. Psychopaths and weirdos like who have posted on this thread do worry me.

They cause far more damage that any of their delusions could ever do. The same delusions they try and spread like a virus to anyone who'll listen including their own spawn.
