How and to whom would I report a website

Options
My website is being plaguerised by one of my main competitiors and even after warning him off several times...he is still doing it.
How can I report him to the major search engines that he is listed with?

• In what way is it being plaguerised? Text, images etc?

Do a whois search on the domain to find out who is hosting company is and file a complaint direct with them.

By the very nature of the internet, there is no governing body that you can go to in order to resolve this.

I'd arrange a solicitor's letter to him to warn of breach of copyright and if he doesn't remove the items, you'll take him to court.

• I have already contacted him several times and threatened solicitors and court action, to no avail.
I have contacted his website hosting company and received this reply

Dear Lynn,
Thank you for contacting UKC.
The best course of action is to forward us a copy of any legal letter/notice sent to the administrator of the accused site, if you can send it to "tech-support@uk-cheapest.co.uk" we can assist further. We are unable to act without a legal notice as we are do not have the information to determine which party is right/wrong. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind Regards,
HelpDesk.

I have replied to them today, to ask what they mean by a legal notice and to tell them that I can prove who is in the wrong, by providing them with cached versions of both of our websites.
I really don't want to engage a solicitor, if there is another way of doing things.
How would I report him to the big search engines....Google, Yahoo etc?

I really don't think you can report him to the search engines, because you'll end up with the same "provide proof / legal letters" as per the ISP.

ISP first, then up the anti with legal action in my view.

I had a look on Google and there is a section to report copyright infringement via the DCMA, but you do need to provide documents to them to support your claim, not to mention if it turns out that the other person can prove that they did not infringe your copyright then you can in turn be facing the barell of the legal gun yourself.

OP, how can you prove you have the copyright?

Unfortunately some idiot called superscaper posted all over that thread too. :D

Edit: just noticed it's the same OP, if the OP wants to take it further then they really should be at the stage of filing court papers by now.

Just noticed the same too, I'd be taking legal action at this point too.
