    probably not...

the new ipod nano's ain't in the promotion, so it is only the ipod fatty nano's you get the rebate on.. and when they launch the new MBP's they'll probably be excluded from the ipod fatty nano rebate... (afaik, if i'm wrong, don't flame me, i'm just going on what i read elsewhere!)

The Apple Store states you need to "buy a qualifying Mac before October 31st". As far as I know, a qualifying Mac is everything apart from the Mac Mini or Mac Pro.

It also gives the impression that the offer is for the new Nano and Touch. I do remember reading that the new ones wouldn't be included in the offer, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Apple don't sell the 3rd gen Nanos any more, so it would be pretty difficult to add one to your order. ;)

well, they include the 16gb nano in the rebate details, and they didn't do a 16gb 3rd generation nano, so it must be on the new ones!

  • If your a distance learner you might be about to use your uni's web cache which would allow you to visit the online apple education site, as thats what i use when im at home to order things from apple

    hmmmmm

if only I could remember how to access it :o

  • It should be on your uni's website, if they have a search bar on their front page just search for web cache. :)
  • I'm logged in, and searched on their directory but it says no results

(I also have 337 unread e-mails, so it shows how often I access it!)

  • How to set the service up

You need to configure your internet connection to use a proxy cache.
The proxy server address is wwwcache.myuniversity.ac.uk and the port number is 81.

Please view the setup instructions for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox

Thats how to set up my cache at home
  • Thanks. Didn't work though (I swapped the 'port.ac.uk' for my uni ;))

Even phoned the uni's tech support and they don't think you can access the network proper remotely

I can get the full education discount by phoning them ;)

New range of MBPs out today :j

Hate the keyboard, and would rather have a matte screen, but kit looks good. And it's gonna be cheaper. And they still have the printer and nano rebates on.

Just waiting for the 0% credit card to arrive and I'll be ordering!!! :j

Woo hoo!!! That's my birthday/christmas presents to myself for the next 5 years ordered :j

Went to the uni and ordered (via Quidco, fingers crossed) from the proper HE store, so ordered a MBP (15"), all in 1 fax and printer, 16gb nano, and 3 year applecare.

With the nano and printer rebates, and expected Quidco cashback, I've paid £150 less for the lot than the standard retail price of the MBP.

    :j :j :j

Just the 3 weeks to wait for it all to arrive :(
