Wonder if there was a reserve?
Auctioneer:
Lot 4, starting the bidding at £250,000, any bids? (Very, very short pause.)
Turning to Lot 5 then .....
It does strike me that the owner can set whatever reserve he wants, but the auctioneer has the final laugh. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

:rotfl: guide price of 220k meant a lot then!

Property didn't sell at auction and is now available at £250k.
You may well have another chance at the price you are happy for, though.
It's not luck you didn't buy it, I agree. You'd set your price, and didn't pay over it....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Circumstance will force it through. They can be in denial as long as they want until more forced sellers have to cut their asking prices, bringing them all down.0 -

Bot yet - despite borehamwood being a wart on the ahole of the world, it is relatively well off for a chavved up slum.0 -

All the houses in this new development have sold, with only apartments remaining. So its not a question of sellers being in denial, buyers are still out there paying high prices.
OK its Elstree not Borehamwood, but its only a mile away and public transport is not as good.

Have they exchanged and completed yet, because if not it is just more of Basil and Martin's bullcrap. They have had a board outside on of the flats next to their "elstree" office since 1987.
There is a world of difference between Elstree and B'wood, albeit on the railway line divides the two.

they just emoliate them instead.
English town my harris, swaggering louts, slapper girlfriends, rough dump pubs like the Rising Star in Rossington Ave, closed about 50 time for drugs - the place is chav heaven.
Where do you live mate? Baghdad?
Thta was over 6 years ago buddy. I could get an article on something horrific from every town. Jill dando was shot in the face in a leafy suburb of london does that mean it's rough? Hardly damning evidence is it. Show me a town that doesn't have immigrants? Are all the pubs and take aways in radlett run by the middle class english? I don't think so. Was only in the red lion the other night being served by eastern european after eastern european.
If i had £750k to spend on a house then i wouldn't live there but like 95% of the population i don't!
For what it's worth if i had £750k to spend on a house i wouldn't spend my time on a moneysaving forum.
Don't panic captain!!0 -
