free video converter?

i need to convert a video i downloaded with real player so that i can burn it to a dvd and play it on a regular dvd player. anyone know of a free converter?

hi,
well it all worked fine but when i played the dvd back there were two diagonal lines across the screen. could it have some sort of copy protection on it coz i did download it from a site useing realplayer.

Try using https://www.zamzar.com to convert online.

i dont really know if it is copy protected by the site or whether there is something within real player that prevents copying. that software isnt one of those that only gives you an unspoilt clip if you buy an upgrade is it? i know avs4you is like that.
i know clips can be downloaded from youtube. it is a site very similar to that if you know what i mean?

i just converted something i had on the pc and the picture was fine so the clip must have been copy protected. what are the best settings for quality on prism and express burner? the clip will need to be able to fit on a regular dvd. the run time is 25 minutes.
i will check out zamzar now.

Is that PhotoShop or PowerDirector?
