Yeah, we used to have a BSB Squarial and BSB box, before Sky 'merged' with BSB and then a year later dropped the 31W DMAC broadcast and concentrated on the 19.2E PAL Astra system.
The BSB boxes then had now/next data. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Whats the cheapest deal for sky+ at the minute? My 4 month trial is coming to an end but the cheapest they offered was £49 + 60 installation even tho I have a quad lnd and gun shot cable. I dont want broadband or their phone service.0

You can pick up a 2nd hand box on Ebay for around 40-50 probably cheaper going that route0

If I wanted Sky multiroom but don't have a telephone wire in the room I want it in what do sky do? Do they install the extension cable for you, and if so do the install it nice and tidy?
If I was undecided at the moment and was likely to get a HD tv in the next few months would the advice be to wait and get Sky Hd later on.
Also if you upgrade to muliroom do they just relocate your old box to the other room, or do you get a new box? If it's the old box is it then covered by the 1 year warranty?
Thanks in advance for help.

If I wanted Sky multiroom but don't have a telephone wire in the room I want it in what do sky do? Do they install the extension cable for you Yes, and if so do the install it nice and tidy No? The telelphone extension sky used to connect my SKY+ HD box to a socket merely scatters around the edge of my living room, tacked nowhere.
If I was undecided at the moment and was likely to get a HD tv in the next few months would the advice be to wait and get Sky Hd later on. The channels available in HD are still scarse, even the HD channels often show SD material or a poor representation of HD. Live sport is where it tends to shine, along with BBC HD. If neither of those are a big deal for you then wait a while for HD.
Also if you upgrade to muliroom do they just relocate your old box to the other room, or do you get a new box? If it's the old box is it then covered by the 1 year warranty? Not sure sorry.
Thanks in advance for help.

Just had sky+ HD installed today - fantastic. Not so fantastic is the wire which now runs all the way across the front door saddle, round the skirting and along the front of the fireplace - all held in place with the ugliest tacks you could imagine. It could have been worse - he wanted to bring it around the other side of the room - along all the skirting boards and up and over my french doors!!! We had bought one of those extension reel boxes but he refused to connect the box to this as he said we would just remove it when he left (which was true!).:hello:0
