Sorry but that is not a bargain. Esp as the original price is highly inflated to make it look like a good deal. I have never heard of the make either.

You can get a 32'' LCD on the same website for £399. http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/index~modelcode~LGE-32PG6000~dept~ctv~subdept~PLASMA~brand~lg.htm

    I wouldn't pay £100 for a crt tv.

Loewe are a bit like Bang & Olufsen - i.e. top quality but top prices!

I'd rather spend £500 on a Samsung LCD than a Loewe CRT though!

Just because you haven't heard of one of the more prestigious brands doesn't mean they are no good, just that you move in circles lower down the market. http://www.loewe-uk.com/
The original price wouldn't surprise me if it was real (and yes, probably from 5 or so years ago) - their kit is extremely expensive, nearly up there with B&O prices. However, having said that, it's very very very expensive for a 32" CRT television in this current cheap LCD market and I can't imagine they'll sell many if any at that price.
  • my sis still has a crt - a much better picture than our Sony bravia lcd - especially with sports like footie..... They are a bit cumbersome though...

We did have a samsung lcd - but took it back to costco, we were disappointed with the picture - but the reason we took it back was that it kept turning itself on and off all the time. The sony picture is much better - what we were really after was a panasonic, but they didn't have them in at Costco (32") at the time.....
  • One of the specs that support its expensive tag is that it is a 100hz TV, so a bit like HD in terms of quality.

100hz were the dogs.... in terms of picture quality, just before LCD's went mainstream.

£2,099 though, only for the idiotically rich.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

  • Oh, come on people. I'll bet hardly any of you have ever heard of Beyer?

    They make these...

But just because you haven't heard of them doesn't make them !!!!.

(The above mentioned headphones are ones used in pretty much every radio station across the county, the DT-150, the hallowed replacement to the ever-faithful DT-100 series :D)
