Oh, well I'm as qualified as the OP re my computer knoweldge, now I'm just as  :rotfl:

I run Mcafee security suite, and S&D

What tea timer does is keeps a check on your system. So when it tries to DO something thats 'new' and it doesnt have a 'rule' made for it yet ~ then it ASKS you
For instance, it might say ****MCAFEE is trying to write to 'X' folder ~ do you want to allow?****
So for now (And to be safer) I would advise leaving it on
HOWEVER. Mcafee is absolute junk so would advise against using that to be honest

You can get a free firewall (Comodo) and anti virus (AVG, AVIRA or AVAST) off the net no problem

Just let me know if you want to go down this route though

Ah ha, Ok Rik, so that's why I keep getting a pop up asking if I want to allow a certain programme.

As for Mcaffe, it's a paid subscription untill 2009, so I think i'll stick with it for now Rik ;)

    Thanks for the help Rik.

    Msns notorious for going haywire
Are you sure its your computer and NOT their servers?
Ive had problems at times when my mate hasnt, who just lives a mile from me :s
Seems to be very 'area specific' when they have problems

Thinking about it could be their servers I guess as my kids have the same problem and they're wireless to my computer - does that make sense?

What would you do about this Rik?
