eBay account suspension?!

My friend have sold 4 white PSPs on eBay, then his eBay account got suspended. (indefinitely suspension). He got email saying SONY reported him for copyright issues and he actually got another email from eBay saying that HERMES international (France) reported him for copyrights issues as well... HERMES? The bag, tie, silk stuff company....omg...he said he never sold anything related to Hermes in the past....
He's been on eBay for 3 years (200+ 100% positive feedback) and used to be a powerseller. I think he actually wrote email to eBay a couple of times as well, but they never replied and the account is still indefinitely suspended. He pays his eBay fees by direct debit. (zero balance at the mo)
Anyone had the same situation before? Any idea when they will give him his account back???

Why what is it to you?
If he's a powerseller tell him to join in here and his own dirty work.
Basically he's got caught with his pants down selling gear he shouldn't have. End of account.I would imagine he would have to start from scratch with new id.0 -
There is a lot of talk on the unmoderated ebay boards about the crackdown on certain items. Several powersellers have joined in saying that they have been suspended for selling the new Xbox 360.
The thing that came across most strongly was that the powersellers were surprised they were suspended, they are more used to just getting a warning and this time were shocked to get a total ban. It looks like the big electronic companies are cracking the whip about 'unauthorised' sales.
ALl the friend of the OP can do is provide ebay when any information they ask for, and keep asking when they will be reinstated. The fact that they were not actually a powerseller at the time of the ban might mean they are at the end of a very long queue as I would expect ebay to deal with the powersellers first. As for the Hermes issue the friend should try and get that mistake dealt with ASAP so that a black mark does not remain on his account. It might just be that ebay are suspending so many people for infringement that they quoted the wrong company name at him?

Maybe I'm having a dumb day but what's wrong with selling PSP's? I only ask as a friend has one he no longer wants and has asked hubby to list it on e-bay for him but if theres a chance of getting banned he won't bother.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

I'm not sure, but I think selling one second hand might be a different matter. Safest thing to do would be to look up Sony's details on the VeRO pages and ask them.shelly wrote:Maybe I'm having a dumb day but what's wrong with selling PSP's? IMHO i would ask ebays live help why its happened and also why other auctions which are selling the exact same thing are still running.

Surely they are only objecting as you are unauthorised reseller as such, thus for example if i listed an xbox360 next week as a used unit or unwanted gift then that gets round it?
I have three xbox 360's on order from three different suppliers - i only need one for my wee boy, BUT there is no way i am going to cancel either of the other two until i have one in hand. Lets face it all three companies could let me down and there is no way i am just going to pick one to run with...
I'd rather have two to sell and one for my son, than none at all, but i am getting worried now that i won't even be 'allowed' to sell them on ebay?0 -
I dunno, but how long is the 'indefinite suspension'?0

It rather implies permanency, but the discussion on the unmoderated group suggested that some sellers got their account back after submitting all sorts of information and jumping through hoops to please ebay. However, I still reckon they will do the power sellers first before they even look at ordinary sellers unfortunately.
