If you've had five years of shouting, hitting, swearing and not caring and don't know any different then why change? The parents have been completely lazy letting this carry on. The sad thing is that as soon as the program is over, do you really think that they are going to change? (the parents I mean).

I agree totally and its the children who suffer from bad parenting. They then in turn have little or no parenting skills to pass onto their children

Parents wonder why the children are like this when they have never taught them good behaviour from day one. They just seem to expect children to know how to behave.

If you don't put in the work you can't expect good results.

BTW I do not want to come across as being perfect, I am not I have a child who went off the rails when he was a teenager but even he would never have behaved in that way.

I agree i had my fair share of challenges with mine but nothing like with these children.

i had terrible bed times with my son and i used the supernanny idea before she told it on tv and within 3eves it was all sorted

of course we all have challenges but these people just give up so easily.
  • once you have got repect from children and you have set good boundaries and rules and got through the difficult times you grow closer to your children and enjoy them and they enjoy your closeness, very sad but these parents do not yet have the closeness they need with there children.

i really do hope they can do this for the childrens sakes.

    Children need boundaries and rules.

It works both ways they know when they've done wrong by breaking one of the rules but also positively like being out for the evening and having a late bedtime can be seen as a treat.

BUT........only by knowing what is allowed and not allowed can children behave correctly.

As adults we have to live by rules and regulations. We are conditioned as children to understand what is acceptable behaviour and without this valuable lesson we could all fall fowl of the law.

I'll stop now. :o We are not all perfect and I'm sure made a few mistakes in raising our own children. The day the new born baby comes with its individual instruction manual is the day we will all be perfect .:)
