What is SP Code on Phone - need to unlock samsung D900i Virgin phone
Hi
I have a pay as you go Samsung D900i phone locked to virgin. I have recently moved house and cannot get a signal with virgin, so want to transfer to an orange sim card.
I have tried unlocking my phone with a code from ebay, which works fine, but when I switch my phone off and on again it asks for an SP code, which I don't have!
Does anyone know what this is, or how I can get it?
Thanks

What code did you get off ebay ? An SP lock is s service provider lock so your handset isn't fully unlocked, some of the codes you get off ebay are a temp unlock so you have to enter it every time you turn your phone off and on, The best thing to get is a D900 unlocking clip which will fully unlock your phone. If you contact James-73 on this forum he can provide you with one of these, they are really cheap, just around £4 and once used you can re-sell it on ebay and get the money back you paid for it.0 -
Thanks for this - sorry for sounding stupid, but how do I contact James-73?0

I recently unlocked a D900i using instructions on HotUKDeals which involved putting the sim half in, then sliding the battery behind (to fool it into thinking there's no sim) and using a series of codes. If you do a search on their site, I'm sure you could find it (although I can't at the moment). It was v easy and free.
Have details written down at home if you can't find the info. Could post this evening.0 -
I recommend never using this type of unlock method, mainly beacuse it can cause damage to your phones IMEI number, it can and have seen it on so many occasions where it will change your IMEI number to 000000000000000
This makes your phone unusable and nobody will be able to change it back without breaking the law, Always use the methods stated by myself or any other Pro unlocker.0 -
Just found it...

I followed the unlocking instructions in post 10.0 -

I followed the unlocking instructions in post 10.
Use that at your own risk, I would personally recommend you dont use this method, or you might be putting a post on here saying your phone is dead.0 -
I bow to your superior knowledge Jay, but my phone is fine and still has its IMEI intact.0

I know mate, but was just giving a warning that it doesnt always work, would hate to see them have a phone they cant use, have seen it happen to many times pal. Us phone unlockers cringe at those codes, not because they are free coz as you can see I unlock hundreds of phones here for free, its just the risk that is involved with them mate.0 -
Hi
