Someone has opened an Orange contract in my name

    To be honest, I'd be pretty angry that Phones4U/Orange had allowed someone to sign up for a contract in your name without having the measures in place to confirm their identity.

    They would have had to prove their id, its a case of where did they get the id from ?
    Was it stolen, forged etc. There are only supposed to be certain documents you can use to prove your id for credit/phones etc (documents that can be verified), but sometimes stores will take any old rubbish (for reasons of their own).

    Probably a member of staff in phones4u, those people are scum, I'll never buy a phone from them again. Either that or your identity has been stolen. Hope it works out ok.

    Do you think I'd be able to get Orange to remove the 2nd contract from my credit file?

    id think it bloody rude if they didnt, and would let them know id take my business elsewhere too. Got to be something you can do, would contacting the credit file themself be better? x
