Tricks to talk to a human

BT:
When phoning BT press the option to say you are a new customer and you will get transferred straight away. If they are busy you can even leave your number and they will phone you back generally within 2 minutes! You don't have this latter option to leave your number if you are an existing customer!

Hi all
Regarding DVLA. Firstly I must say this is one of the worst phone, website or face to face customer service I have ever experienced. I nearly threw my phone out the window when trying to get through. If you want something simple then forget it. Their answering service is like a bullet point pick this or nothing scenario and the website is cluttered and confusing.
Now back to the answering service. If you want to talk to a human dial 0870 850 0007 and wait for the fud to answer and start babbling. As soon as this happens press 1, 1, 2 with about a second or 2 in between each number to let the puke machine direct the call through. After you have done this it should say "your call is now being directed to an operator".....not promising anything tho!
Office closes after 5PM.

Not sure if it's been already suggested (can't be bothered reading 7 pages) but when given the option of 'pressing * twice if you have a touch tone' phone, do nothing. They then automatically assume you have a pulse phone and redirect you to a real person.0

Don't know if this info is of use to anybody, but:
If you have to wait ages to get through to Dell computers for advice re personal computers, phone the business line 'by mistake' and make a fuss and they deal with it.
No obviously published phone number to get through to amazon.co.uk because they like you to email, but their number is 0800 279 66200 -
Ive found when trying to get through to companies like The Link or Mesh or whatever, press the number for Sales and its answered immediately! Then you start talking about what you really want and they say, wrong department, Ill just transfer you.0

But then don't you just get placed at the back of the queue again?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

After phoning the credit card phone number just wait for the options to be read twice and you will automatically be transferred to a human.
That is a tried and tested method.0 -
Hi All
Name: Co-operative Bank Customer Services
Tel: 08457 212212
What to do: Key in all of the details requested (account number, sort code, security key) - all followed by the hash key. After pressing the last hash, simply press it again before listening to the information options, and an operator will answer and speak to you by name!
