Bumping for 2012.
I think my family enjoyed playing this and opening their prizes more than they did their main presents.
For this year so far I have:
mini ice scraper for the car from Morrisons
clips for sealing opened bags of cereal etc. from Morrisons
Turkish Delight from Home Bargains
3 boxes of Tic Tacs from Asda
Hot chocolate cups from Poundland
Dish washing sponge that you can pour the liquid into the handle from Morrisons
Bottle opener key from Amazon
Mini chocolate hand cream from Superdrug
Toothpaste tube squeezers from Amazon
Peg fridge magnets from Tesco
Still need to get more bits that are for children.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Went to bump my old post for 2012 and can see someone already has so thank you!
For Christmas 2012 we are doing a slight variation now that all the children are a little older. There will still be 16 of us getting together to play this game, but this year I have asked EVERYONE to buy at least one little gift - including the youngest children who are 9 and 10 (£1-2 budget) and to buy and wrap it secretly if possible.
My own 3 boys went in to Poundland one by one and came out giggling, so I dread to think what they have bought! There was even more giggling as they wrapped the little gifts up secretly in their bedrooms to put into my snatch bingo bag.
I'm hoping that the fun of seeing their own gift being passed around will add to the excitement. I am still buying a good number of them myself too as this game works best with lots of gifts.
Must find a sparkly thong to add - thanks for the idea enjy59!

I wish we could play this but there's only 3 of us. Justin beaber famously said he always played this at Christmas, it seems to be gaining popularity by the year. Has anyone done it with a small amount of people?Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

Just wanted to say thanks for this game, we played it on Boxing day with a variety of 16 family members aged from 8 to 60.
We wrapped up a box of sprouts to look like a "star" gift, and it got snatched around a few times but it was hilarious when the final winner opened it tee hee :rotfl:0 -
I work with a girl from Mexico and she told me this was a traditional game over there every Christmas. Never heard of it before.Money SPENDING Expert0

On the off chance that they are not shiny white, a complete stranger lands in your kitchen with a childrens chemistry set and tells you that you're doing it wrong. You won't scream as for some reason you kind of expected this...0
