Travelodge Refund

My son booked 2 nights, with a debit card, at a Travelodge on a flexible rate, but had to cancel the room the day before he was due to travel, and expected the money for the room to be refunded, he has a cancellation e-mail to that effect. The Customer Services agree that the money should have been refunded, but they stated he had to e-mail the Customer Services department stating the claim for a refund. After 23 days there is still no sign of a refund, so basically what can he do to get a refund ? the only suggestion I can think of is a letter to the Head Office and then maybe a small claims court case. The amount is £98.00.

Any other help/suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

I am sure if you cancel at short notice they still charge you for one nights stay? I know when I have read the small print whilst booking in the past it states that.

The new flexible rate allows you to cancel up to 12pm on the day of arrival, my son cancelled the day before he was due to arrive, so is entitled to a full refund.

I'd just phone them for now and see what they have to say.

This refund will be process automatically following your cancellation and will be credited back to the payment card used within 10 days. No other method of refund can be made.
