Ah - now 3 litres of Irn Bru are likely to be in plastic bottles.
Plastic ( PET ) soda bottles are designed to stand pressures of up to 12 bar but are pressurised to only 4 bar when filled. Given that putting it in a vaccuum will only increase the pressure difference from the inside to the outside by 1 bar to a total of 5 bar then it should be OK.
However if the bottle is at all damaged - even a scratch may cause weakness then don't use it.
For safety you could put the bottle in a heavy duty sealed plastic bag and the lot in suitcase of its own to allow for expansion of the gas in case of leakage due to splitting ...
Maybe its best to find a local importer of the stuff and buy it out there. Irn Bru has been found on the shelf in Mongolia.qui tacet consentire -
