We've got a Pioneer cinema system. After years of loyal service some DVD stopped playing a couple of weeks ago. A fellow :money: suggested we spend a few pounds on a cleaning disc and it's working perfect again:o

Re Plasma - with energy bills rising dramatically if you are big TV watcher it will cost you more than an LCD. According to the report -Plasma screens use a vast amount of power (700W vs 70W for same sized LCD screen), roughly equivalent to a household hoover!

Plasmas do use more power, but nowhere NEAR that difference!
Can you send me a link to wherever you got that information please?
    Cheers

we tried all that. it wasnt even a problem specific to the one model. after two or three repairs they just offered us a new hifi and that did the same.

we have a pioneer amp that we use for the surround sound, it is perfect, had no problems from it and sounds awesome. I will find the consumption of my panasonic plasma tomorrow with the energy meter.
