for those of you who are struggling ...firstly

Fares include taxes, fees & charges
    Booking Period Tue 23rd Sep 08 - Thu 25th Sep 08Travel Period Tue 07th Oct 08 - Sat 15th Nov 08Applicable Days:Mon - Thurs & Sat (subject to availability)
selected routes for travel Tues/weds Nov onlyFlight must be purchased:14 Days in advanceBlackout Period:17th Oct '08 - 03rd Nov '08 to/from Edinburgh / Glasgow
24th Oct '08 - 03rd Nov '08 to/from UK/IrelandNotes on this fare All Holidays, School Breaks and Major Sporting Events are excluded from this offer

Secondly, check the PDF page that lists which routes are in the sale.

Thirdly .... If the free (1p) fare that you find is in the sale then along with no taxes ...wait for it .... THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR ANY CARD!!!!!!!

Sorry to disagree. I booked a flight last night and had to pay £4 card charges. Just tried to book another 1p flight no taxes and you do have to pay card charges. I/we all really must get an Electron card for next time
  • Well i thought this was rather a good deal... I found a 1p fare to Milan with no taxes 7th - 14th Oct from london stanstead which is great but I have a baby who I wanted to take with me. Now wait for it this is an infant who is under 2 so doesn't get their own seat yet they want to charge me £16.00 each way for the little ones seat.....

I don't understand Ryanairs pricing system as that price is more than the standard adult fare of £8.99 each way..... I am seriously not amused

How can they justify this price?????

Unlucky, just tried again and still no charge for using VISA for the flight I booked earlier.

Maybe I got lucky ...or as its a 2 day sale that ends at midnight on Thursday, the full sale only starts tonight at midnight ;-)

I have also been charged £16.00 in handling fees for two return 1p flights to Paris from Liverpool.

After snapping up quite a few seats I'm well aware it started last night ....just trying (and failing) to be sarcastic in that the 2 day sale is really a 3 day sale.
  • I have booked 2 day trips from Bristol to Dublin on 6th and 12th November, no problems at all and 4p for each date for the two of us, if you read all the booking conditions first and book within their specified dates you should have no problems, and make sure that you go for no luggage and online checkin and as long as you already have your own, also opt for no travel insurance. We have done loads of these flights over the past couple of years with no problems, either on the booking side or on the day of travel...

Hope you all find some flights.....

I am pretty sure that the visa/electron card is the only card they don't charge for. Booked a Ryanair flight in travel agents in March this year and was told this. A card with just visa will be charged, it must be visa/electron.
  • hi i get these cheap flights all the time, last december the whole family went to olso, norway for the day for 10p. we went skating, saw santa, xmas markets, it was fab. much cheaper than lapland!!!!

bring one bag each on board, never take insurance etc and i always pay with debit card and never any charges.

good luck and grab yourself a bargain!!!

I booked 1p flights on a day return to Venice (Treviso) at around 10.45 last night. Removed all the optional extras and ended up paying the £4 visa card fee for each person on each flight.

I am going to investigate the Halifax with a view to getting the electron card for next time. Incidentally every card I tried, and I tried several, incurred a charge.

Since these deals come up quite a bit I wonder if there would be a benefit in having a sticky thread some where, even in the arms, with 'what to do ' at various Ryan air destinations. Just general info, where the flight actually lands, what's nearby and what the travel onwards is like? I was at a loss last night as to where to go, I had a fast connection, oodles of availability all at 1p and no idea where half the places were. I only ended up in venice as I've been there with Ryan air before and knew I could do a day trip. I was intregued with andipandi's post about Oslo and would like to know more about that as a possibility.
