What to do with lots of old magazines?

Do a completed, worldwide, search for the cover girls to get an idea if they'll sell...you could combine any magazines which feature one celeb into one auction. Personally I'd list on .com not .co.uk as, more often than not, it tends to be the yanks who pay for celebrity collector's items.

Also try searching on the US site for 'clippings' (ie Pamela Anderson clippings). If you can be bothered going through all the mags and cutting clippings out then you could sell these as a bundle. It would mean less shipping costs if the buyer is overseas.0 -
There was a guy I came across whose whole ebay business model was based on selling UK magazines to the Americans. I even tried listing some of the stuff that he did, but he could sell anything even when others couldn't so I assume he had a very loyal buyer base!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Cool i will have a look at selling the main important magazines like the big GQ and FHM ones, any news from eBay on when they may have their next cheap day? As its too expensive to list them now just in case they do not sell. And i have ton's of stock to sell as well so cheap day would work out well at the moment. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

If anyone has ever seen or heard of the "mags 2 riches" scheme, it works on this principle.
It also costs £3799+ vat for the full franchise!! But a summarised PDF version is available here...!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Media including magazines can be listed for 5p if the start price is 99p or under, so there is very little point in waiting for a cheap listing day for them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Royal Mail used to offer a "printed papers" service which is a cheaper rate of postage for newspapers, magazines and such like.
I've checked the RM website and can't find anything for posting within the UK, however there is info on the website offering the printed papers service for posting overseas.
Might be worth giving them a ring.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

There is no printed paper rate within the UK. However if magazines are sent flat and singly then they can usually be posted as a large letter rather than pay packet rate. There is a printed paper rate overseas.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I saw an eBay listing a while ago for a group of Louis Wain prints taken from antique magazines which sold for far more than the intact magazines would have been worth.0 -
Hmm, I have a lot of art books on Amazon for low prices...could I bring myself to destroy them for the plates?
I did once sell a lot of early photographic plate books for around £2 each on ebay and they ended up going to an art shop in Cornwall, they even asked if I had any more as they would buy whatever I could get. I did wonder if they were broken up mounted and sold as framed prints.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
