Dell- Anyone got caught by bit price reduction within hours of ordering

Thank you all for your advice and support. I did check my order status on line and it says it is at pre-production stage, not produced and definately not dispatched. I wish I had seen this before I spoke to someone today, I may not have been so polite when he was lying to me about it being with the carriers.
When I had received no reply to phone call or e-mail by 5pm I quickly wrote a letter to head office and caught the 5.30 post. The odd thing is Dell head office is only about 5 miles from me ( I had no idea where they were until I typed the letter).
I will keep you posted on developments.

Thumbs up for Dell - they came good in the end.
They did try to deliver the cancelled order but I refused to accept delivery.

After a week of no replies to my letter, phone call or e-mails they rang and offered to supply free of charge not just the basic printer but a far higher specification printer.

Have today received delivery of computer and printer.

So a happy ending .
