Contract sim in pay as you go phone
Can you buy a PAYG phone and put a contract SIM in it?
Background - my husband has a contract with Orange and his LG phone has packed in after 8 months. Orange have told him to get in touch with LG regarding repairs but he can't be without a phone for long.
Sim free phones seem quite expensive and as he is only 8 months into a 18 month contract with Orange at £30 per month there is no point him getting a new contract.
So if he buys an Orange PAYG mobile can he just put his contract SIM in

NOTE: ALTHOUGH I WORK FOR ORANGE THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL COMPANY WORD, IM ONLY TRYING TO HELP OUT. CHECK WITH CUSTOMER SERVICES FIRST, AND ON YOUR OWN HEAD BE IT!!!!0 -

Orange are wrnog to suggest he contact LG. If he bought if from them, the responsibility if it fails under warranty is theirs, NOT LG. (always assuming it's not a user-caused problem). Any unlocked or Orange contract or Orange PAYG handset will accept the SIM and provide service until the handset is returned.0

He was offered the Care package but it worked out about £70 and we reckon he may as well spend that on another phone which he can sell once his is repaired (hopefully under warranty!)0
