    Well I must report that the shepherds pie came out really really well in the slow cooker. It was maybe a bit too 'wet' and not as solid as it would be done in the oven but it tasted lovely. The mash turned out great on the top. I will definately be making it again.

    Sorry I didnt tell you all before but my bf's teenage daughter has been online all weekend and I havn't been allowed anywhere near the comp :rolleyes:

    Ok just wondered how u drain the mince off, if u cook shepherds pie in sc?Or do u not get much fat draining off?
    I am looking at buying one next week and would love to do this as it means I can put it on b4 going to work . It would then b ready when I get home:D .

    I usually dry fry the mince before adding it to the slow cooker so I drain it then. I think it gives it a better flavour/colour and helps to break the mince up but I know some people just put it straight in.
