thanks Dealdriver
I'm looking to buy in the next 7 days. but if it's better to wait until the X'mas rush after Oct, I'm quite happy to do that provided i get a good deal.
Just a recap of the things I'm looking for
should seat 5, possibly 7
should have a good mpg > 50, if possible
should have lower CO2 emission
should have a reasonable amount of Boot space
doesn't matter Petrol or diesel
possibly manual and Insurance group the least
Cheap to service and cost of parts
yes and of course Keeping the family safe too
Am I looking for a good car or looking for someone inventing one with this spec, well I will wait and see.
any comments and suggestions welcome0 -
you're having a laugh, arent u? I thought they stopped making them back in the early 90s ... then again, I'm sure I saw a T plate one recently

newest one I've seen had an 05 plate.... not sure if there are any left.. and remember, the Hillman Hunter and Austin Ambassador are still in production....0 -
Skyjumper..this might help - on our website using this link you can see the top 200 or so new cars based on either high MPG bands or low road tax...all prices expire 30/9 as per our earlier comment -as many mfr's are having price changes from 1st Oct. http://www.dealdrivers.co.uk/html/green_hi_mpg.html
If you don't mind 'nearly new' then there's a batch of around 30 Vauxhall Agila's, 1yr old on 07 plates, all under 8k miles at £3,700 each...or if you want a larger bargain car there's a batch of new Renault Laguna hatches and estates from £11,999 - £14,999 inc metallic and most have extras, some are diesels...they are brand new.
