  • The Observer article mentions Nationwide, even though Nationwide were told we were selling the house, and they were receiving payments via a debt management plan, they went for a ccj, their lawyers drydens making it clear they wanted a charging order. My solicitor advised no direct contact with drydens, everything in writing only, she pushed my sale through to thwart them, (she hated lawyers who are really debt collectors). These people seem to be able to obtain ccj's that are impossible to pay, even though assurances are given that the ccj won't be more than the dmp. My ccj was for more than the whole dmp..
i have signed the petition and today have made an appointment to see my MP at his surgery.
If enough of us do this especially with Labours current unpopularity with their handling of finance matters we can be heard.
I have had the pleasure of sticking 2 fingers up at them, ccj discharged and a new future to look forward to but I have been suicidal

    aggie,

i can only imagine what you have gone through and i do have some understanding on the fear they put us through

i faced repossession this year, and that was tough, but what you have gone through seems far worse

this is why we must all take time out to do something about this, well done and thankyou for signing, i really feel passionate about this, its like my calling or something, i have lots of knowledge now that i didnt at the start of the year, but what about others who are still struggling with their debts - they wont know whats hit them

so if anything we need to shout as loud as possible so others can get the message too

you had a fab solicitor and thank the lord you got sorted in the end

keep happy - ciao laters maz:T

  • This may sound simple!!! lol, but if we signed a credit agreement for unsecured debt, then surely it is illegal for that agreement to be changed?
Just a thought, but if they do this couldn't we bring legal action ourselves...
My knowledge of financial law is fairly bad...feel free to laugh at above^^

Thanks for all your help and support with this Maz. I have just emailed PP asking them to put a notice on their 'News' section of the website asking for their slant (if they have one) or reassurance if nothing else. They were quick to point out the implications of the HBOS/Lloyds merger last week so hopefully they will look at this as well. Anyone wanting to find out their response just needs to go to the Justabank website. I don't think you need to have an account with them but if you do I will cut and paste their response. People Power!

Hi BAB, was just looking at their site when I saw your reply. I understand where you are coming from. I have a DMP which is running very smoothly and I hope it will continue.

Do you mean this bit?: http://www.payplan.com/weblog/

All I see on the justabank page is a login form. No links to news.

You need to go to https://www.justabank.co.uk/products/dmp_supervision/index.php and scroll down to the news section. Nothing new on there yet though.
