Go and see him. Frighten him when he realises what could happen.

it is the consequence of letting a civil servant in Justice lose on something that has economic implications.

If it gets through, there will be loads of folk for whom it will be safer to go BK immediately than risk acquiring equity in a few years.

You've not met my Labour MP then - don't think I'll be bothering !!!

  • Not signing it (sorry) always knew there was a risk of creditors going after the house whether debts were secured or not.

  • I also knew there was a "risk" but it seems it could be more than just a "risk" now.

Right now he is terrified of losing his seat at the next election. Good time to frighten him.

Having had the misfortune to work with/for a number of them at one point in my life, I would believe it. The prime qualification for nomination seems to be loyalty to whatever is crowing loudest on the local dung heap.

And of course, quite a few of those who got in in 97 were in seats where they were not expected to even win and quality was even less of an issue.

Having said that a few of the old guard were genuinely competent and interested in their electorate. Unfortunately we will be losing even more of them at the next election, whatever party gets in.

My area is yellow across the board. Our local MP is fantastic, they are on the ball and actually actively working within the community. If that's any indication of how the yellows might be, then let them have a go.

I think it's grossly unfair if a DCA is allowed to apply the full debt to the house or file for this if partial payments are being met. At least people are trying to pay off their debts, surely this gives people no incentive to keep to IVAs and DMPs and just go bankrupt? That can't be healthy for the economy, can it?

RAS, you took the words right out of my mouth.

What most in the government seem to forget is that Brown was our Chancellor for 10 years so therefore he is just as liable as Blair for the mess we are in today. Mind I did see the lovely Ben from GMTV this morning give our Darling a good whipping. Well worth watching .
