I do "New Posts" and this thread looked interesting. I didn't even know what sub forum I was on.

Although bearing that in mind, I might have to retract my "It couldn't happen to anyone of us" post. lol.

    hiya all

    251 at the moment

im on the case with my mp but i wondered if writing to the local newspaper if anything they would quote the petition address at least to view and people could then be more consumer aware

i think not enough people are taking this is as a serious threat, i was hoping we had the petition in the thousands by now not just hundreds

ive even seriously thought of posting just the petition site address and daring the neighbours to check it out if they wish to keep their house,,,if they have unsecured debts, or what about a for sale board up with the petition address, i might have to sell before the charging order goes on but the petition might just help stop the charging order,,,, can i do that on my property put a board up with the petition address in bold ? what a publicity stunt that would be,,,,,the paper might even come to me,,,,oh just thinking outside the box

93 Payment by instalments: making and enforcing charging orders

While this is, of course, a very worrying issue, the section isn't yet in force. OH (who is a director of a law centre) says that the date has already been pushed back several times already, so there is hope that pressure might see it got rid of, I think?

The reason i started this thread was to try to get people aware to apply that pressure neverdespairgirl, and even though its not in force yet it is being used by some judges, which also needs addressing.

But the info in your post shows it is worth making some noise about this, if its already faultering or struggling to reach the point it is fully enforced, it may make a big differance if enough objections are made
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

Come on everyone standing at 271 at the moment

went to see my mp saturday and he will pass on my letter to housing minister for one and others

i told him that i was a member of this country and my concern was important to me, and that others have concerns too ie the petition

also would the country prefer more bankrupts as if the banks needed less customers than ever

i think calmly and assertively, its worth visiting your mp in person with a copy of a letter making it official

enough noice will make an impact, if everyone relies on others to make a stand it wont be so deafening will it????

have a fun week laters ciao MAZ

To have a chance of being taken seriously by the Powers That Be, a petition needs to be well-written, concise, informative, and in good English. This is none of those.

I agree, a very important issue. But this petition is inadequate.

  • nice one Maz for taking it to the MP!
Does Martin know about this? could he take it forward?
Might be worth asking him eh? after all he has the contacts to make a fuss about this one,

The credit/debt crunch is here and not going to be getting better for a while. The days of reckless borrowing, overspending and living beyond your means are over. Time to take a look at your finances and work out a debt free plan me thinks.
Is that aimed at the banks too, reckless borrowing, reckless lending, deceipt etc etc etc ;)
