Problem with Jag Comms and Orange Contract
My daughter has just come to the end of her O2 contract and was desperate to get a Blackberry. She went to our local Jag Communications shop and was offered a deal of £35.00 per month for 1000 minutes and unlimited texts with an extra £2.50 for unlimited browsing and emails for 18 months. She has just had her 1st bill after 10 days and i its all wrong. Firstly he signed her up for unlimited landline calls instead of unlimited texts and it appears he did not addon the internet deal as she has been charged £35.00 for 14 mb of internet and the £2.50 charge does not show. So we went in to see then and he said the internet charge was because she tried ( and failed) to download another version of Facebook and he would try to sort it out. I pointed out that the £2.50 charge was not on the bill so maybe he had not done the contract right. I also noticed he had signed her up for 24 months.
We both said we were unhappy with the deal and wanted to cancel and he said consumers do not have a 7 or 14 day opt out if they buy in a shop or online.
We left it with him to sort out the data charge and have had no response and when I called in this morning they said he was out and we would have to wait. I gave the details with another person in the shop and he said he would look into it.
My question is should there be a cooling off period for this type of transaction??

Not if you entered into the contract in the shop. (Some networks do give a cooling off period for all contracts, but that is a benefit, rather than a right)
But the details should be exactly as the ones you signed for. Doesn't your paperwork show the contract length, etc?0
