Sending and receiving faxes without a fax machine

Options
I understand that I can send and recieve faxes through email, without needing a fax machine (my fax machine is broken and I also have limited office space).

Does anyone have any experience of this?? what is the best system to use???

Thanks in anticipation.

only really used the fax software in my 3 in 1 printer which used the 56K phone/fax modem.
    But this may help

There is plenty of commercial software out there to do this for you. You will have to pay for it initially, but if will be worth it in the end.

I run a business from home.

Sorry I meant whether it was Vista Home or Vista Business. The Business has a built in feature to allow you to do faxing without the need for extra software.

Ok well double check you version of windows by following this:

Start > Control Pannel > System

You will be able to see the version on the page that is displayed. If is business then good fax vista business if it is home then this application is very good http://www.snappysoftware.com/index.html you will need a normal modem though!!
