Is this my MAC?

Hi all
Is the AP MAC address my actual MAC? Its 12 long and made up of numbers and letters. I found it on an icon BT home hub put on my desk top that highlights speed etc.
Really fed up with BT at the mo...speed is awful and keep getting disconnected. Supposed to get upto 8 mb and have always been below 1mb. Live in a small village so even if i change from BT i take it this will not improve. Live really close to the exchange too.
Other thing is when i do speed tests it comes up ttotally different every time.
Any advice?

as far as i know you have to call up for your MAC, cuz it changes if you dont use it with in the 28/30 days
