can someone tell me where i should send the letter of complaint to its halifax (should it go to head office or the local branch)
if it is the head office does anybody have this address0 -
if its for ppi it should go to Halifax Insurance Ireland Ltd , address is in your policy booklet
or customer relations, address on wesbite0 -
thanks regularsaver
im not sure if it is classed as ppi
it sayas it is called SPLRC (Secured Personel Loan Repayments Cover)
please could answer my post which is No.400
thanks again0 -
Yes I will try Jace22
The reason why is that the Halifax no longer offer these loans (Home owner loans ), they were withdrawn about 2 months ago. The SPLRC stands for Secured Personal Loan Repayments Cover so yes ppi, but there are a few differences
The SPLRC covers you first named for - accident, sickness, unemployment, life cover, not critical illness though
At present your SPLRC forms part of your loan contract, so you can't simply just cancel that part, just as you can't an unsecured with them too
The Home owner loans are all on standard variable rate. Where as further advances can be at mortgage product rate , that is what they are suggesting you do, is put the two on the mortgage and therefore not have the ppi0 -
thanks once again regularsaver
i will try going down the complaints side of things and let you all know i get on
im hoping that there will be some good news to tell you soon0 -
I posted in my own thread but got no response but basically on one of my loans, i had another loan added for the protection. Does this mean i cannot ask for it to stop because i'm acutally paying off the loan for the PPI as it has been paid off in full at the beginning of the loan deal?0

just read all pages in here and now believe the 2nd loan is PPI.
Can i use email or does it have to be sent by post?0 -
Hi, perhaps someone could offer me some advice. Last year I bought a Sofa from DFS and it was financed thru Black Horse on the buy now pay next year scheme. Well next year has come and Black Horse have sent me a letter confirming payment dates which includes a paragraph to the tune of "your payment includes Payment Care" i.e PPI. The finance forms were filled out by the salesman at DFS and i just signed them (very silly me for not checking) anyhow it seems that the salesman has ticked the form to say I asked for PPI which I didn't I have my own more than adequate insurance incase of illness, death etc thru my employer and had they asked me thats what I would have told them. Any idea what to do any how to word a letter to Black Horse.
Thanks in advance for your help.Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0 -

Send a letter to Blackhorse Finance, St William House, Tresillian Terrace, Cardiff cf105bh. State that you were not aware you had taken out the payment protection policy and that you do not wish to have it and therefore request that it be cancelled " from the date of inception of the agreement" and explain that it was taken without your auth etc etc
They may not do this, but it's worth a shot! However, at a bare minimum they should at least cancel it from the date you write to them, so it should at least get some of it removed. However I think you stand a darn good chance of getting it removed if you word it right. If you do get it cancelled from inception, check the figures when you get your statement and make sure that they have removed not only the amount of the ppp, but some of the interest as well - this will only show as one amount but you will be able to work out how much the PPi was from the difference between the price of your sofa and the opening balance. As the interest is normally added monthly, you will have been having interest added for tthe last year on the sofa price plus the ppp.
hope this make sense - pmme if you need any more advice!0 -
Thanks Scotsgirl, will give it a whirl although it was interest free credit so shouldn't be any interest. Can u believe they want to charge £150 for 18 months worth of interest free credit......scandalous!!Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0
