  • Hi everyone,

I am a newbie here, but have been reading all your interesting facts and finds and I am very impressed and feel there is light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

I have currently got 2 loans one with Blackhorse and another with Welcome finance.

If possible please can someone email me or send me a template so I can cancel my PPI on my loans.

Both loans are about 1+ years old.

    Thank you very much.

P.S. Has anyone had any dealings with BlackHorse and Welcome Finance when it comes to cancelling PPI?

    Thanks again

    Jay
  • Tripled - I just called Egg and said I wanted to cancel it. They insisted on quizzing me about what other measures I had in place, and tried to convince me I needed it, but when I said I still wanted to cancel, they did it there and then. 0845 6000 291 was the number I called...

I tried to cancel PPI on my A&L loan, but i wouldnt get much of a refund so left it.

However, it has just sprung to mind reading this that I was temping at the time - If i wrote back again, what chances would i have of a refund? - it adds up to £1000 with interest over duration of loan, however loan is two years old.

  • Did you keep the same loan & just pay the reduced amount from then on or did you have to re apply for a new loan. Northern Rock are insisting I cancel the loan & reapply which makes approx £1000 extra to pay than if they'd just removed ppi

Havnt done anything as yet - when i enquired, they told me i had to package into a new loan, but the amount included the PPI as it was front loaded, however as i was temping (and told them i was working through an agency) it was pretty much mis sold ..... just dont know where i stand after two years.

I've posted this question on numerous threads as I haven't really received a clear answer as of yet.

After trying to resolve issues of miss-sold PPI directly with the company responsible, what should your next steps be to recover the charges?

I see some people have used court action in a similar fashion to reclaiming bank charges. This is not an option for my OH, who needs to follow this through.

I was thinking that the Financial Ombudsman would be the best bet. Can anyone advise me further on this? .... I obviously want to recover all of my OH PPI charges for her, and want to pursue this in the most effective manor.

Has anyone here used the FO to recover PPI charges? ...

    Your thoughts are most appreciated.
  • you can go to the ombudsman only after exhausting the complaints procedure with the lender/insurer

Again, thank you for that information, it's appreciated.
  • Hi,

congrats to all who have had their PPI returned.

I am going to send a letter to GE Money as the PPI on my secured loan is £4800 but as they added it to the original loan amount I am paying interest it too.

Fingers crossed I get it returned.

    Thanks to everyone x
