Hi Avogirly,
Yup, I don't think the payments are a problem, should be OK there...
The letter said 2645 plus Interest, so maybe I just accept it and consider myself lucky..
Now I go for them over the charges on my current account.
More people should be doing this, we've rolled over for far too long with the banks..

When TSB refunded mine the payments of the loan stayed the same.
What they did was refund me what id paid for the PPI at the start of the loan plus the interest id paid on the PPI to date.
Incidentally, how easy did you find it to cancel and get a refund with TSB ?
Some people they seeem to give in easy, others it takes a few letters and finally a full complaint before they refund.Debt at highest £16k+

They gave in quite easily really...
I started with a phone call, to be greeted with the standard "You had 30 days" speech, so I faxed a copy of the 'template' letter and got a letter back saying that it was not something that could be dealt with at branch level and they would 'pass the complaint to the relevant person'.
The letter that I got back making the offer pointed out that I would have signed a document explaining the PPI and effectively saying that it was 'my fault that I didn't read the original agreement properly'.
But this was the first letter that was sent by them and it looks like they've gone the whole nine yards already.
I hope they are as accomodating when they get the letter about the charges.
It's not that I've got anything personal against Lloyds, but they do seem to be the ones who have caused me more grief than anyone else.
When I changed my account, Lloyds were the only ones who couldn't/wouldn't accept the new account details over the phone for Direct Debits, to the extent that they took two payments out of the old account for the loan even though I had called/written to them to try and cancel the DD.
Hopefully Halifax will be better.

well we have recieved our third letter from yorkshire bank this morning basically just an exact copy of the second but this time saying if i wanted to continue my complaint then i had to send all info to customer relations manager. all they seem to keep saying is all their staff are trained in selling the insurance and that we signed the agreement.
I have replied again this time sending all previous correspondence to the customer relations manager arguing that i did sign the agreement but that was because it wasn't explained to me that it was optional and that from what i had been told it was all part of their loans. so lets see how far we get this time.
to be honest i'm starting to get fed up and am ready to just give it up and move all our business elsewhere but then this is probably what they are wanting me to do (give up that is) so i've told them that if it isn't resolved to my satisfaction then i'm moving banks.
fingers crossed xxx its costing me in paper, ink and stamps!!!! lol0 -

I didnt even realise you could get PPI removed from your loans. I took out a £7000 graduate loan with HSBC with PPI, was basically told i had to take it out to get the loan.
Tried to claim with PPI yesterday and was refused! what on earth have i been paying it for?
Has anyone had any experience dealing with HSBC over this?0 -
I am having problems with HSBC took out a graduate loan and was only granted the loan on the premis I took PPI have tried to cancel and told I can't as over 30 days.
Could someone PM me the letter template so I can now write in.
PPI won't cover me now as on a DMP and in the T&C's won't cover me if don't make the full payments.
Tried to cancel twice with no luck only offered a new loan which they told me I wouldn't get and all the interest I had paid would be added onto the new loan.Light bulb moment Dec 2005

Two payments made to Payplan. Waiting for offers to be accepted

nmiah786 wrote:After sending out the second letter my borther got a phone call from NatWest yesterday. They apologised for not getting back to him earlier and said that they will be refunding the premiums already paid, into his account within a week. He didnt ask how much. So I guess he'll just have to wait and see. I'll keep you guys posted.
Just been on the phone with NatWest (pretended to be my brother). Guess what, my brother has now had £2681 refund back into his loan as a result of cancelling the Loan Insurance and reduced monthly payments of £50 from now on...he wanted them to keep the monthly payments the same but they would not do that as it would reduce term of the loan!!!!
Anyway, it was a great result...thank you to everyone especially Avogirly & Old Iron Balls.
Also, to all those who are with NatWest and pm'd me, now you know it can be done, so dont give up!!!
