Dusty - are you celebrating your anniversary over the weekend? DH is away at the moment isn't he?
He has landed, and is on the train home - trying to stay up by entertaining myself on tonight's Phil thread. Despite Toots piccies there are clean sheets on the bed and that is how they are staying;)
We might go out as a family tomorrow afternoon if hubbie is not shattered and we shall drink champagne in the evening - we love champagne - any excuse. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Well whatever you do, or get up to;). I hope you have a lovely time.0

how do you all cope with kids not tidying up after themselves, mine are 17, 15 and 7yrs. They don't do a thing unless I nag and nag them. Any tips on getting them to do their bit?0

Just wanted to say Morning
What a mental time to be up but went to bed at 730 as could feel the start of a stinking cold. Woke up at 130 when OH came to bed (and he has to be at work at 6!) and couldnt get back to sleep with his snoring.
Obviously no flying yesterday but as its our room noone else sees that and the rest of the house is holding up nicely. Have read a few posts but not all of it as nothing is sinking in. Did see that Mudbath might be getting a new doogie so fingers crossed for you and your family hun.
To everyone else I'm sure I'll catch up with you over the weekend but have to take DS shopping. He has to have a suit for school on Monday as he is spending the day chauffering year 6's round with their parents. !!!!!! - I mean he's a growing lad and thye expect us to buy him a suit for 1 day. Wonder what he'll say if I suggest charity shops  .
Anyway I'm going to try and get some more shut eye so catch ya latersMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Update business & personal finances
I need to simplify my finances, too. Will try and sort that out as well.
Have spent most of the day trying to get OHs mower unstuck. He is working 20 minutes out of town and we had to drive up there to help him! He got stuck in exactly the same place as he's been stuck before! What a fast learner . . . NOT!!!
Valli - cool kiwi. Where did you find it?
Triker - you've done lots!! Well done.
Mudbath - good luck with the pup tomorrow. Hope it all goes well.
WEEZE210 - slowly does it with the kids LOL. We started ours with doing a Sunday job. They would each have one house-type job to do on a Sunday (when we used to do our major cleaning). Once they learned that it usually would only take 10-15 minutes, it wasn't too big a hassle. Now they do quite a bit more - dishes in the evening, get the washing in, feed the animals, change their beds, vacuum and clean bathrooms as required. Yes - they still have a moan, but in all honesty, they usually do OK. Oh, and I don't criticise them if they don't do something how "I" would do it. I show them the first time, then leave them to it
Ok, I'm off to change my bed; get washing in; and get dinner started.
This is my only day off this week, so after that I'm sitting down with feet up.If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Morning
Kaz I'd refuse to buy a suit, what on earth do they want him in a suit for, it's school, school uniform should be what he's wearing. Y'know schools are really starting to annoy me, littley had a 'superheroes' day the other week, well firstly, they'd been learning about them all week and they're not even real  secondly they had to dress up as a superhero for the day - quell all the parents buying special suits  littley had normal clothes on cause I'm sick to death of forking out for one day on a badly thought out idea by the school but it come with a tremendous amount of guilt on my part.......think I'll implode the next time they have a dressing-up day.....or keep her off. Gosh that was a rant, sorry.
Change of subject....lol
Got a private job at 1pm today for an hour or so so I'd like to get a few things round here done before I go. I've got a mountain of washing to do....and tidying....and hoovering....and cleaning....
ooooh and I've got to find all the bits for my curtain pole (opened it years ago and put the bits somewhere safe, as you do) cause OH is gonna put it up for me, I've never had curtains up in my living room and I've been here 5 yrsI have blinds up though so not completely bare lol
Off to check pigpen's list...0
