student/short contract broadband query

Hi there
My daughter is due to move into a student flat tomorrow and will need broadband.
The flat has a BT landline and it's easy enough to compare all the various packages out there, however......!
Our problem is that her lease is only for 6 months and at most it will only be extended for another 3.
As you all know, most broadband contracts seem to be for at least 12 months. Does anyone have any ideas what the best strategy would be to avoid having to pay a fee for terminating the contract early, or even just a cheap broadband package with a very small penalty for early cancellation!
Thanks in advance

You will have to activate the BT line for twelve months too.
My son has the same problem he will only be there for 9 months. He has has to take out 12 month contracts for both BT phone line and broadband with o2. He will have to pay the last three months of each to terminate his contract.
newnet and zen are monthly broadband but they are not the cheapest.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I am in a similar situation - moving into a flat at the end of the week for 9 months.
I have decided to buy a £50 PAYG USB Modem from 3. There is a choice of £10, £15 or £25/month packages which can be paid by top-up vouchers.
I'm hoping to only need the £15 package and then do any large downloading in the library!0 -
