Hi,
I Got sky broadband last month 11th of August, it worked for 6 days, after that the orange light started flashing which meant there was no signal so i phoned sky after 20 minutes waiting i was put through tec support and went through the normal process( check the test socket/change filter) they tested the line, the line was fine. so i was told to phone BT and i did so they done a test on the line and funny enough they said the same thing.
So i was back on to sky again, this time after waiting 30 minutes i was put through again and i had go trough the same test my test socket process, they just wouldnt listen to me. still no broadband.
Sky have another team if tec cant help (Customer Solution's Team) they were supose to phone me within 24 hours, i am still waiting.
What should i do?
If i cancell can someone please recomend a GOOD broadband provider in the Lanarkshire area in Scotland. Its mostly for browsing the web and checking my email.
Thanks in advance.
Asif

Post you problem on https://www.skyuser.co.uk
A number of Sky employees post there who may be able to help.
I take it you have eliminating your home phone wiring as a possible cause of the problem, by plugging into the master test socket. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Yes all sockets are fine. I was told to test the router in the master socket. still no joy.0

Is your router in the test socket at the moment? if so is the internet light amber? CST should call back within 72 hours not 24 but you can call back to check on ticket process anytime you want.0

Sorry you are right, it is 72 hours.
phoned them today, she said they tried to call me but couldnt get through.
But no has called me? back to square one.0 -
We have been with Sky for 17 mnths yet. 16 mnths too many. On original installation, the sky guy came, put the dish up and said that insatlling, setting up the braodband was included. He couldn't get it to work and left saying someone would ring.
No one did, so we fiddled with it and managed to get it to work.
Since then, every other week it would go off. I ended up telling them I wanted toi cancel. Was told I had to write a letter explaining that they had been able to provide me with a service,so therefore they weren't keeping there end of the deal. This was along with a lst of complaints about how i was paying for the max package at an extra £10 a month but was told i could only get 2mb in my area which should be free! They replied by letter extremly quickly, telling me I had to wait 12 mnths before cancelling. We have now gone through 6 routers with them and have now been sent a new SAGEM wireless one. Surprise surprise it doesn't work and its now been over 72 hrs and oh yes surprise surprise, no phonecall. I can see that other people in my road have Sky and wonder if they have the same problems. I am typing this from work. About to ring Sky to get a MAC code so again, any one recommend a good broadband provider.0
