Talk Talk Frustration

Hi
We have recently moved house and the previous owners where talk talk customer’s phone and broadband. They disconnected phone line with BT but as it turns out haven’t cancelled their talk talk account but it looks like they have cancelled their direct debit with them due to bills been sent via Talk talk.

I reconnected the phone line with the Post Office instead of BT as recommended by a talk talk sales person as there is no 12 month tie just 3 months line rental.
The post office charged me around £5 to reconnect the phone and then I had to pay for 3 months line rental to a total of £29.85.
The post office reconnected the phone line with the same number as the previous owners, We called the Talk talk sales and they gladly took my bank details (including my nectar point number ;) ) and gave me a order number. Then I received there documentation in my name then 2 weeks later received the Modem with a user name / password etc all in my name then waited for the date it said the broadband would go Live .... Great!
Until I started receiving bills and telephone call’s from talk talk in the previous owners name. After several phone calls from talk talk overseas staff which they said the name would get changed , the account is still in the previous owners name.
I have checked with the post office and talk talk cancelled my account with them.
The final call to talk talk said I would have to go into a carphone warehouse talk both letters with my name and the previous owner and proof I live at the address and It would get changed.

HOW WRONG
Today in a local carphone warehouse shop and after a 40 minute call to another of their overseas customer service advisor they said I could not have got the phone line connected by the post office and that they will be disconnecting the line and I would have to get BT to reconnect the Line at another cost and BT have a 12 month tie in, even thou I need the phone and Internet for my work.

On the plus side talk talk have not charged me for their service but we have been using the internet and phone line

Help what can I do ??
From my experience Talk Talk seem to be great if the connection goes smoothly but there after sales service is poor and a Gamble which looks like I have lost.

Thanks in advance
A
