Just thought I'd see how you were doing, there really isn't much you can do with your soa, have you checked that your insurance is the lowest? and if not make sure you sign up with Quidco and get cashback, if there is a better deal
I know what you mean about only 1 income to pay everything
Don't worry about calling CCCS, Like Jvic i did mine online, went through the debt remedy par, and they have phoned me twice and were very very good , once was because i didn't have the correct account number for my loan:oPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869

Hi fellow monkey,
I know, I cant seem to trim anything off my soa, so just waiting now to ring CCCS tomorrow. I've done the first step by filling in the Debt Remedy form online and got my reference number in hand. Hopefully I will find out more tomorrow when I ring them and see how we go from there.
Do you know what? I feel so much better since I found this forum. I was feeling a bit lost not knowing what to do next. But now, after all the threads I've read on here and the good advice I've had from all the good people on here I feel 100% more positive and Im now looking forward to the challenge. Bring it on!0 -
Hi,
No surprise that the creditors didnt respond to your initial correspondence. We are all told to talk to them but.....Going with CCCS is vv good idea, your cr's will listen now..and if they dont you will have the CCCS to back you up.
You have taken the biggest step. Good Luck.
:D stay wonky

Hi
Just popping in to say hi and to say you are doing well. Creditors are unsympathetic I'm afraid. I remember when my dad died and a creditor was on the phone constantly (dad only owed £200 on his credit card and that was all), they made our lives hell even though we sent his death certificate they still didn't believe us!
Anyway, I found the creditors were more accommodating once I had contacted CCCS and gone on a DMP. In fact, a couple of my larger creditors actually recommeded I call CCCS (this was before I found this forum and had never heard of CCCS) as they said they were more likely to accept their proposals. True to their words, they froze interest immediately and I'm now 9 months into my dmp and they have still frozen interest so I think CCCS have a lot of respect in the credit industry.
Good luck.
I may pop in occasionally!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Update on my diary. 22nd September
Wow, this site is so busy, its only been 24 hours since my last post and I had to search back to page eight to find my diary thread!
Anyway, I rang CCCS today and spoke to a really nice guy who was very helpfull and calmly explained what I had to do next.
Just got home from work and got logged on my pc and completed my Debt Remedy as instructed. My help pack is now on its way, so the ball is rolling!
Only problem I see is I did my own sort of DMP last month and sent it out to all my creditors with a reduced offer worked out on a pro rata basis relative to my disposable income. Since completing the debt remedy form for CCCS they work out my disposable income about £100 less! My creditors were moaning about the offer I made them last month so Im sure they wont be pleased with a further reduced offer by the time the CCCS have rejigged my figures. But as it says on the CCCS website, "you cant pay what you haven't got"
Waiting for my new bank account details to come through now so I can set about sorting out my DD's etc.
If your reading this, thanks for taking an interest, and I'll keep you all posted.0 -
Use the USER CP button near the top of the page just above the debt free wanabee resourse bar. It will bring up new posts on the threads you have posted on.
Good luck with your journey. This is a great site and you have had good advice.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -

Got my DMP pack today from CCCS. Going to sort out all the relevant statements etc on Saturday morning (next day off) and get it in the post. It says in the pack that my payment to them is due on the first of the month. When do I send my first payment in to CCCS, now or wait until they have received all my paperwork? I have already contacted all my creditors and promised lower payments so shall I send them all a payment on the 1st October as promised and let the DMP take over for November onwards?0
-
Did CCCS give you a date when you are to start?
Tje chances of them getting your paperwork done and sorted for 1st October is slim to nil , i'd guess they will be expecting payment on 1st of November
One thing about CCCS is they are on your side, and if you are not sure about anything just give them a call
Have you joined any of the cashback sites and survey sites yet, its a good way to get a few extra £'SPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869
