    Doesn't really sound right, but it depends on your TOTAL HOUSEHOLD (joint) income, the childcare element is only worth it upto a certain amount of total income.

    Before calling the CTC office, get the amounts right, or as good as you can, if you know what the esimated income for the year 08-09 will be then it will be easier to account for.

    As far as increased childcare is concerned have you looked at getting childcare couchers from you employer? Not all offer them, but many do, it will save you between 12 & 30% dependant on your tax position, and you can both claim upto £243 per month before tax! They do have a minimum term of 12 months though.
    These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

    I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!
  • You could try getting a better paid job, that way you would not have to reley on Tax credits. It's what I did.
