Morgan Stanley / Barclays / Leeds & Holbeck Credit Card

  • I still not got my PIN - called today and they will send another. But in the meantime the old Goldfish card will cease on 28 Sept. So who knows when can use a card again.

And everytime try to log in the site, says invalid password and have to reset everything.

    Complete and utter shambles!

The Barclaycard replacements for the Morgans Stanley card arrived on Thursday 18th but no PINs arrived. Started chasing the PINs for my wife's and my own cards last Monday (22nd) which was the last day the old cards were valid.

Barclaycard assured me (a) that they had definitely been posted on Saturday 13th and (b) that they would arrive by 24th. Was offered the chance to re-order them but if 11 days is the lead time, thought I'd rather wait for the original ones. The local Royal Mail delivery office say they have no backlog here but sometimes things don't arrive from third party mailing companies that the banks use.

These PINs must be coming from somewhere very remote because they still haven't arrived (30 Sep). Tried chasing through the Barclaycard web site secure e-mail option (I have other cards registered) and got fobbed off.

When they didn't arrive today, phoned and was told they definitely had been posted so they must have been lost in the post. My daughter was waiting for the PIN for another Barclaycard (different application, different date) and that hasn't arrived either. All the rest of the post has come as expected.

I ordered new PINs and was told 7 days (forgot to ask if that's seven working days).

Someone's telling porkies. I can't believe that Barclays would slow down the production of these to save a few quid of cashback. Maybe the fancy secure printing machine has broken down and no-one has the guts to own up. Maybe by some co-incidence they all really are lost in the post. But I'm getting really fed up. Looking at the Shell Mastercard cashback card.
  • I called them up at weekend and was fobbed off with the same story and they ordered a new PIN for me. 4 days later am still wating although did say it was 7 days (that calendar days!)

Me thinks I wont get it. And trying to get the Call Centre to understand is a joke.
  • The second lot of PINs arrived on 6th October - not seven days but four days after I reordered them. Must be the second lot because they said they'd be different from the first - and they work.

Elsewhere there are lots of reports of people unable to log in on the Barclaycard web site, suggesting it was overwhelmed by the additional traffic.

I was able to log in but not to register my Barclaycard Cashback in addition to my classic cards.

Just looks like a complete mess.

Anyway, this page gives some places to complain:

  • After getting bounced around from one web page to another I finally mananged to register for the the on-line account management. However when I then tried to log on I couldn't. The field names on the log on page are different from the field names used in the registration page. However the best one is the fact that you are aked for a 6 to 8 character password on the registration page but on the log on it's looking for 8!
Now I can't even get the "forgot your details page to work". The systems complete mince. To fix it I'll have to phone their support centre which is in India. Having experienced this before (I was with the Woolwich which was taken over by Barclays) have decided life is too short and I am dumping the card. Unfortunately I can't insert it where I would like.

arwenthecat posted the numbers for some UK based call centres in another thread on this forum:
