Hi Folks,
Lots of thoughts running through my head today. I have just got back from the canteen in work, there was a tv with sky news showing the actual footage of Colonel Gaddafi being captured and shot.
The footage was not pleasant. When I see things like this it makes me wonder what this world we live in has become. Don't get me wrong, by all accounts he was an evil man, and maybe the saying 'What comes around, goes around' applies to his demise. However, looking at the bigger picture, a few serious questions need to be asked.
Why, after 40 years of reign, are foreign governments and NATO removing Gaddafi from power now?
Why have foreign governments and NATO not removed Mugabe, who some would say, is equally as 'evil' as Gaddafi?
The answer, being somewhat cyncial, is not to save innocent lives and give people a democracy. I think the answer is oil, it is that simple. The oil reserves are depleting rapidly, and I don't think the foreign governments (Amercia and UK) want the control of a large oil reserve in the hands of a tyrant.
Moving on to a simliar story, why was Saddam removed from Iraq, after all the years in power? Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Why did they not get rid of Saddam during the first gulf war?
Again, I don't think there was any weapons of mass destruction, it was hidden agenda's from foreign governments again.
Now don't get me wrong, Saddam and Gaddafi were evil people, Gaddafi use to supply weapons and explosives to the IRA, and he has completed countless atrocities against his own people. Saddam has also done the same. But we need to be careful about unequivocally praising the UK, America and NATO in these wars.
I think it is safe to say that NATO, America and the UK will not carry out this sort of war/action on Mugabe. Why? Because there is no intrinisic value in that land, there is no oil!!!
Looking at the bigger picture of the human race in general, people say we have evolved. I would say no we haven't. Yes we have made huge advances in technology, medicine and other things. However, we still kill each other and cannot live in peace. Religion and resources (oil, is the current flavour of the decade) are the main culprits. I actually do believe in god and have my own religon. However, I respect other peoples beliefs and religions. I don't subscribe to the 'My way or the highway' thought process. Everybody is different, surely we can find a way to live together in harmony and not tear each other apart and the world we live in.
These times that we live in sometimes make me wonder if Humans do deserve a chance on this planet!!!!DFW#972 LBM2 (09/07/12) £25938.84; Current £23783.35;Credit Credit Card1 £128.47/£6424.24 (2%);Credit Card2 £443.86/£15663.25 (2.8%); Overdraft £0/£2500 (0%)0 -
Hi Folks,
Well the last few days the badminton has been going well, I am starting to get the fitness back. We won our league match on Friday 9-0. Then on Sunday we had a badminton tournament. We got to the semi-final and lost a very close match, so overall pleased with the improvement.
Not done very well with the NSD's this month, hopefully I can get a few more in the next week.

Hi Folks,
Well I did not manage a NSD over the weekend. However, I did manage to pull my back again, so I am a bit grumpy.
However, on a positive note I did manage to do some successful trading over the weekend and made about £60.
Well the end of October is here, this year has gone so fast. I will have to start buying christmas presents soon. I need to sit down tonight and set some targets for next month for NSD's and grocery challengers etc.

Hi Folks,
Sorry I have not posted recently, I have been busy.
I managed to put the tree up tonight with my fab gf, it is our first proper christmas together. I have got most of my presents now as well, so pretty organised.
Looking forward to seeing the family for Christmas.

HI MF,
Glad to hear all is going well in your personal life. We put our tree up too and it just makes me feel better to look at it. I have most of the presents now (the costly ones anyway), but have run out of wrapping paper - so just that to get. I made my own cards this year as well so will write those this week.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hi Folks,
Hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Year. Well it was back to work today :-(
It wasn't too bad, but a New Year is here, and I need to get back into gear. I need to get fit this year as I need to do my Cancer Charity coast to coast cycle. Also I need to really get these debts kicked in to touch so I can finally settle down with my gf and get the house sorted.

Hi Skyvicky, I don't know about staying on track, I have become fat over christmas and have no money :rotfl:
But I suppose I should be grateful as I do have a roof over my head and I can put food on the table.
I think everybody has a tough time over christmas, this year I managed not to use my credit cards for christmas presents which was good.
I did not manage a NSD yesterday but I managed one on tuesday and one on wednesday. so 2 NSD's for Jan so far.
