made a lightbulb snowman (pics)

I made this for my tree today. It was just a used lightbulb, acrylic paint and a piece of felt. (baby blue fleece would have been lovely but I didn't have any)

Hope you like him, I'm proud of him as I'm not a painter. I'm going to try another with ear muffs and a scarf. Also a reindeer and a gingerbread too. Santa -mmmm maybe but he looks difficult LOL

  • For those who haven't blown any bulbs lately then Asda do a smartprice lightbulb for 16p. They sometimes do an 8 or 10 pack for around £1, this may help someone

He is adorable Soblivion. you are so talented :D

ambernora, I bought gold 28 gauge beading wire. I wrapped it round the narrowest silver part of the neck just under the prongs then wrapped it round each little prong, then crossed it a wrapped it over the top of the bulb then left enough to go over a tree branch and twisted it at the top.
Sorry I've written that and it doesn't even seem clear to me. When I do the next one in a mo I'll take a pic.

Thank you everyone, glad you like him.

Just to add there's a simple design here http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/snowpeople/l/blphotopic137.htm for the children to do. I didn't paper mache the bulb, just acrylic painted a couple of coats. I just bought cheap craft acrylic paints 99p per bottle and they'll do loads.
  • He is lovely soblivion, Thanks for sharing your photo's.

I will be stocking up on Smartprice light bulbs next time i'm in asda.

    Thanks
